Fort Meade - USNA - Andrews AFB: Caution: Funny Signs May Make You Laugh

Caution: Funny Signs May Make You Laugh

As you drive around your neighborhood, do you get tired of seeing FOR SALE signs?  I do.  Some days, it seems like they just don't make SOLD signs any more.

I came across a website today called FunnyChill, featuring funny candid photos of people and places.  I thought it might be fun to go through them and create a list of 20 funny signs, since we don't have many SOLD signs making us smile in this market.  'It would take a LOT of room to show these here, so I will just provided you with links instead.

Enjoy these funny signs!

  1. Road Closed
  2. Do Not Disturb
  3. Octopus Warning
  4. Caution
  5. Skiing / Hospital
  6. Crocodile Warning
  7. Rock Climbing
  8. Thin Ice
  9. Protected by Pit Bull
  10. Showgirlssold in just 1 day
  11. Sharp Edges
  12. Beware
  13. Nudist Beach
  14. Tree in Road
  15. Flying Lessons
  16. Copy Hiding
  17. No Dancing
  18. Penguin Warning
  19. On Break
  20. Beware of the Dog

In case you may have forgotten what a SOLD sign looks like, here's one.  Now THAT is something to smile about!

Margaret-One of my favorite local signs used to be on the American Legion Bridge heading into MD.  It said "Prepare for Sudden Aggravation" which was true during the years of construction at the 495 and 270 interchange

Margaret, I'm a believer in leaving a SOLD rider out on the sign as a great advertisement but MOST Realtors do not. They say the owner wants the sign down (I don't believe that) or they have to move the sign to a new listing (how cheap). What better advertisement could a REALTOR have in a neighborhood?

Margaret...i love this sign on today's blog!  Oh to sell a house in one day!  But why did you have to provide links to the others when it  clearly states: Add this media file to your blog, website or MySpace.  and then shows the embedded code and the url.  How would that violate copyright rules?

Perhaps we need to re-think placing those For Sale signs in the yards.  Many gated communities do not allow them, and properties sell.  Most of my sellers are not fond of looking at them for months and months, plus I receive very few sign calls these days.  Maybe we are cluttering the neighborhood and turning away potential buyes.

I drove by a church in a small rural community one day...  The Hooker Church of God... it was in Hooker.

Sally, I'm gonna save that one in my clipart - I think there might be a place for it in a future blog...

Jim and Maria, Yes, there were quite a few.  And some signs that I thought might be too off-color or political for ActiveRain.

Karen, I won't be surprised to see some of their material on your blog...

Midori, Who couldn't benefit from a little chuckle on a Saturday when they're on the computer - instead of on the road selling homes.

Steve, Glad you enjoyed it!

Judith, You are more than welcome!

Jennifer, That looks like a site I need to bookmark!  Thank you.

Julie.  Glad you enjoyed it - and congratulations on your Holiday Balance entry.  I'll be by to comment on it before the weekend is over.

Lane, that is too funny!  One of the photos on this site that I didn't uses was a directional sign to "Hell" and there was another town called "Condom" - 'Glad I live in a boring place called Crofton.

Norma, Ahhhh.  A voice to keep things in perspective.  This IS a real estate site, after all.

Mary, You're right.  I was in such a big hurry, I didn't see that.  But they would take up so much space - , so I changed my blog to say that.  Thanks for pointing that out!  ('Might just find another blog to post one in!)

Gary, I agree!  I've never known a seller who wasn't eager to brag to the world this his/her house sold.

Cindy, I remember that... 'never thought to take a picture, though.  It would be a good one for the collection.

Fran, So true!  Thanks for adding that.
