Relocating to a new area always presents many other challenges besides "just" finding a home.  I understand that, after a few of my own PCS moves  - often handling everything while my husband was deployed and my family was on the opposite coast.

I relied upon that experience while creating this Relocation Package for you, trying to address issues such as commuting, schools, shopping, communities, and things to do for recreation.  There are so many other unknowns you face, and I'll do my best to help.

If finding the "right" place to worship is one of your concerns, maybe this list will get you started:

There are a few smaller congregations, as well, and some people in Crofton choose to go outside the community, at least occasionally, to worship at The National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., or one of these historic churches in Annapolis:  The U.S. Naval Academy ChapelSaint Mary's or St. Anne's.

Hi Margaret:  This is just excellent information.  And... the Naval Academy Chapel is just beautiful... a real work of art .  Your Focus on Crofton blog really is such a wonderful resource for anyone thinking of relocating to Crofton, Annapolis, and the surrounding Anne Arundel County area.  Keep up the great work.

Fran, it is stunning.  Actually, the two historic churches in Annapolis are, too - 'just don't have photos of them!  The Shrine is on the campus of Catholic University, so I stil like to go there several times a year, at least 'til April when the tourists and school trips hit town!

Jesse & Kathy - My daughter is going through this almost a year after moving; still trying to find a church with other single professionals!

Julie - 'Just trying to fill in the holes on my relo package!

Nestor & Katerina - No, and we don't have an Episcopal church either.

Karen Anne - It is stunning.  When Larry was stationed there as an instructor, that's where we went every week.

Hi Margaret,
I have visited several of the cathedrals in D.C but never the U S Naval Academy Chapel, it is just beautiful.  Maybe I'll try to see it next time in the area.
Many families will find their church home as a result of this post.  :0)
