Fort Meade - USNA - Andrews AFB: The Maryland Seafood Festival 2014

The Maryland Seafood Festival 2014

The Maryland Seafood Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7, at Sandy Point State Park. This is the 47th annual festival, and it's always a popular event that generates some extra traffic on the western side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Beer and Crabs

You'll find two dozen food and beverage vendors, ranging from professional caterers and commercial dining establishments to scout troops. But that's not all. There will be a crab soup cook-off, a crab-eating contest, a crab-picking contest, a craft beer & oyster tasting, corn on the cob eating contest, a wine row, and more.

If the food isn't enough to attract you, come for the pogo stick stunt show, the demos by local chefs, or the live music by several bands from mid-day until closing. For kids, there will be a moon bounce, fish-mobile, crab derby, and lots of other activities.

Tickets are just $15 for general admission, $10 for active military and seniors. On-site parking is available only if you pre-purchase the ticket online ($12); otherwise, you'll have to take a shuttle from Anne Arundel Community College ($5).

Purchase tickets online.

Love going to Seafood Festivals. Have one coming up here in Destin at the end of the month. Plenty of good stuff to eat.

Like to have a smoked salmon on a rare occasion and a little tuna fish.

Not much of a seafood eater, but what a big business it is!

This sounds like so much fun, Margaret.  The pogo stick stunt show must be really entertaining.

We try to attend the Seafood Festival in Cape May every October, but unfortunately cannot this year.  Hope you had an opportunity to take some time off to enjoy the delicious food and entertainment.

Toni WeidmanGita Bantwal, Bette GottwaldRoy Kelley - This is a popular tradition for lots of Marylanders, but I usually have to miss it because it's the same time as many agents are headed to the Maryland Association of REALTORS annual conference in Ocean City. First things first!
