Crofton real estate is not what it used to be, and home sellers are struggling right now,. Yet most Crofton homeowners remain positive, confident in the desirability of our community and their own home.
Crofton is a unique place to live, so close to the two major cities of Baltimore and Washington, D.C., but it's a close-knit community with the ambiance of a small town. Residents have a short commute to work, and they come home to their choice of two country clubs with golf courses, three pools (not counting the one at Crofton Village or the apartment complexes), and more organized activities than anyone has time to join. American flags fly over Crofton Parkway, and the Crofton Village Green hosts free Sunday night concerts; then, of course, there are the parades and special events like the Tour d'Crofton bike race and Santa's arrival by fire truck each year.
When you look at this chart of real estate activity, remember the positive - it's only a matter of time 'til the pent up demand for life in our community drives Prices back up and Days on Market back down. In the meantime, here's how it looked for Crofton Real Estate last month:
If you'd like to check today's interest rates, and see how they compare with last week and last month, you can find an Interest Rate Chart at Focus On Crofton. You may also want to look for specific information about home sales in the area around your own home; you can do that by requesting a Real Estate Market Snapshot.

Your average price has definitely taken a hit this month. Great for buyers looking to buy a home in gorgeous Crofton... and as we always say real estate is a long term investment.
Looks like there are some good opportunities for buyers in the area, Margaret. Crofton has so many amenities that we don't see here - lucky for you all!
Margaret - kudos on a comprehensive overview, particularly on your comparison to previous years. Anyone seeing this can start to get a good feel for how the market in your area is doing.
Margaret....great post! I've started including this kind of info in our mailings to the various condo buildings in our area...but we do the stats for that specific building....I think it will help us be an information source to the owners (potentials buyers or sellers) and hopefully set us apart.
I did a blog once about the market, and got no response...I need to do some cool graphs like you do!
Margaret- There you go again with those clean graphs and great looking market reports!
Margaret...
I stopped by my group (haven't spent much time there since the contest started :) and saw you question about Texas real estate. I left you a long answer there, but wanted to let you know you and your daughter were lied to. I'm not sure how you found that agent, but I would not use them, and their broker would hear from me. You can't help your daughter now, but hopefully can help educate the agent for future clients.
I hope your daughter is all moved in and loving her new home? Liz
Thanks for your comments - As I was writing this, I wanted to balance the negative numbers with positives about the community for buyers who might see this in Localism.
In case you haven't visited my blogs recently, I'm trying to reciprocate on commenters' own blogs instead of commenting on each comment here. As Liz mentioned, this contest is a real time-zapper - and I thought reciprocating is a better option since I have to choose.
Liz - Thank you!
